East West holding Winter Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 26th

The East West Family of Companies will host its annual Winter Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 26th from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Interested applicants should bring their resume to the Job Fair as managers will be hiring on the spot. During the event, you will have the opportunity to chat with managers, enjoy appetizers and secure your job.

The Job Fair will be held at the East West Human Resources Office, which is located in Avon at 330 Riverfront Lane.

East West Destination Hospitality wins several Colorado Environmental Leadership Awards

East West Destination Hospitality is thrilled to share that it was recently honored – along with seven of our managed properties – at the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment’s 2016 Environmental Leadership Awards.

East West Destination Hospitality (EWDH), Eagle Point Resort, Falcon Point, Vail Spa Condominiums, Poste Montane Lodge and The Wren at Vail were all honored as Gold Leaders and The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa was honored as Bronze Achiever.

A total of 169 Colorado businesses were recognized this year by the statewide environmental reward program, which is administered by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. It recognizes companies for going beyond state and federal environmental regulations and for their outstanding environmental achievements that help keep Colorado a desirable place to work and live.

With more than $1.2 billion in assets under management, EWDH actively manages more than 2,500 unites in the Vail Valley. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the company has long been committed to being a leader in the reduction of environmental impacts by engaging their associations, owners, guests and community through the use of responsible products and sustainable practices.

 Some recent examples include:

  • EWDH reduced water consumption by 1.7 million gallons of water – a 6 percent savings – from 2014 to 2015 at its managed properties.
  • EWDH is overseeing more than $20 million in renovations at two of its managed properties:
    • At Vail Spa Condominiums, owners are funding $10 million in upgrades, including new energy-efficient and noise-reducing windows and doors, and a new solar heating mechanical system for the pool.
    • At Beaver Creek’s Highlands Slopeside, owners have committed nearly $9 million on exterior upgrades, including a new roof, new energy-efficient windows and doors.
  • Seven of the EWDH managed properties – The Ascent, Eagle Point, Eye Pieces, Falcon Point, Poste Montane Lodge, Vail Spa and The Wren – have been certified by the Vail Valley’s Actively Green program, a partnership with the global non-profit Sustainable Travel International which provides sustainable business training and certification programs.

Eagle Ranch Association celebrates 12th year of successful community pumpkin patch

When Erin Vega, the East West Destination Hospitality manager of the Eagle Ranch Association, started the Eagle Ranch Pumpkin Patch 12 years ago, she had no idea that it would turn into such a major community fundraiser.

More than 500 people attended this year’s event, which was held on Oct. 9th, and over 400 enormous pumpkins were sold.

“If I had known how big this event was going to get, I definitely would have turned it over to a professional planner,” Vega says with a laugh. “It’s amazing to see how it has grown and turned into an incredible fall tradition for so many families.”

In addition to the pumpkins for sale, this fall celebration features pony rides, a punkin chunkin, a sewing enrichment, an obstacle course, a bake sale, pottery painting, an “Un-Haunted Barn” and more.


The event benefits several Vail Valley non-profits, including Eagle Community Gardens, Round-Up River Ranch, the Mountain Valley Horse Rescue, local Girl Scout troops and the Mountain Valley Developmental Group. Eagle Valley Middle School will use funds raised at the event to buy helmets for its football team.

“We definitely try to keep it a cost effective event so that people can bring the whole family to support these important local groups, have fun and not break the bank,” says Vega. “I truly appreciate the support that East West families have provided over the years and look forward watching this great event grow.”

East West Destination Hospitality awarded property management contract for The Lion


East West Destination Hospitality is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the property management contract for The Lion, a new Vail luxury residential development scheduled to open in early 2017.






Developed and owned by Grupo Pegaso, The Lion will offer 65 “alpine modern” residences ranging from 2- to 5-bedrooms, all with high-end finishes and spacious balconies, plus three levels of underground parking and an on-site restaurant. Amenities at The Lion will include a huge outdoor salt water hot tub, an indoor infinite current lap pool and salt water hot tub, a fitness center with steam room and an entertainment room. Located a quick walk from Vail’s Eagle Bahn Gondola, The Lion will offer ski lockers with boot dryers.

East West Partners is excited to announce that is has formed a joint agreement with an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners, LLC and Aspen Skiing Company to purchase and complete the Snowmass Base Village project.

The new joint venture is acquiring the base village project from Snowmass Acquisition Company. It includes all remaining development parcels, all commercial spaces in Base Village, the Snowmass Hospitality property management company and the Viceroy Hotel, including the unsold condominium units within the hotel.

The lot where the Limelight Hotel will be built is also part of the purchase and will now be developed by the joint venture. Aspen Skiing will purchase the Limelight Hotel and four Mountain Sports spaces from the joint venture when they are complete.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of this year and construction in the Base Village is expected to commence next spring, with East West handling for all day-to-day operations.

“East West Partners is very excited to be a part of the joint venture with ASC and KSL. We believe the completion of Base Village will be a great addition to Snowmass, and we could not imagine a better group of dedicated and experienced partners to join forces with to make this happen,” said Craig Ferraro, managing partner of East West. “We thank Related for its diligent efforts to complete the Town Agreements and look forward to working with the Town of Snowmass Village in the future.”

Andy Gunion from East West will be appointed to lead the joint venture. Andy has been with East West for over 12 years and has led the acquisition work on Base Village for East West.

“He has a broad range of relevant experience from project management of our Westin resort in Avon to his most recent role as CFO for the company, said Ferraro. “We greatly appreciate all of the time and effort that town staff, council and others have invested in Base Village to bring it this far and we’re looking forward to working closely with everyone to complete this critical project in a manner that the Snowmass community can be proud of.”

Gunion and his wife look forward to moving to the Roaring Fork Valley and enjoying the uncrowded ski slopes and world class mountain biking.

Conde Nast Traveler names U.S. the World’s Top Ski Destination

As Vail and Beaver Creek gear up for another busy ski season, Conde Nast Traveler recently declared the U.S. to be the Top Ski Destination in the World.

Citing data from the U.S. National Ski Areas Association, the U.S. saw a 6% hike in its ski and snowboard visitors during the 2015-2016 winter, for a grand total of 53.9 million people, compared to 52 million people for France.

Mia – who has been a member the East West family for more than five years – will take on the additional role of serving as OPMA’s Board Secretary starting in November.

Ridgepoint honored in “Best of Beaver Creek” contest

Beaver Creek Mountain Lodging is thrilled to announce that its Ridgepoint Townhomes property has been honored with a “Best of Beaver Creek” award from the Beaver Creek Resort Company and the Beaver Creek Property Owners Association Beautification Committee in the 2nd annual contest.


The property was selected as the winner in the “Multi-Family Best Entrance” category.

Ridgepoint is located in the lower bench of Beaver Creek resort, which is often referred to as “the Valley,” with many of the townhomes overlooking the championship Beaver Creek Golf Course. Amenities include an outdoor Jacuzzi, a sauna, two tennis courts and a heated outdoor pool.
